Hatsumoto: A Snake

Hatsumoto resembles a snake because of her sneaky cruelness. Her beautiful appearance lures in men from all over Japan.  And although she may come off as beautiful, she is really an evil conniving woman who kills her prey slowly, as she attempted to do to Sayuri.

 

Sayuri: A Butterfly

Sayuri stood out as a young girl because of her beautiful appearance and intriguing eyes, as butterflies often do from other insects. With enough persistence and hard work, she was able to break free of her own cocoon into a beautiful successful woman. 

 Charmain: Chimpanzee

Chimpanzees are known for their human like qualities. When they see other monkeys in need, they will help them, just as the Chairman did for Sayuri. He was generous and cared for her, and an adult Chimp would do for fellow monkeys.

Mameha: A Lion

Mameha is a strong, corageous woman who is will ing to do anything to get what she wants for herself and for others. She helps Sayuri in her times of need, and although may have been comforting and supporting, she is very powerful.

 

Nobu: A Bear

While Nobu can be loving and affectionate to people that he enjoys the company of, he can often because rude, and angry easily. His mood swings are similar to that  of a Grizzly bear.
